About MyClippy
MyClippy is a clipboard sync app for Android, Mac and Windows, made by Intelligentia Studios, an independent software studio. It lets you copy text or a link on one device and paste it on another on the same private Wi-Fi, without an account or a cloud service. It is currently a free pilot.
Why it exists
Many people carry an Android phone and work on a Mac, a Windows PC or both. Apple’s Universal Clipboard only connects Apple devices, and Windows options depend on the phone brand or keyboard. So people message links to themselves. MyClippy is our attempt at one clipboard across all three platforms that keeps working without a sign-in.
What it does today
- Native apps for Android 8 or later, Mac (Apple silicon, macOS 13 or later) and Windows 10 or 11 (x64).
- Syncs plain text and links up to 32,768 bytes per copy over the local network. Images and files aren’t supported yet.
- Desktop version 0.3.3 was released on 24 September 2026. The Android app, version 0.3.2, is available to invited Google Play testers.
- No accounts, advertising or analytics SDKs, and no MyClippy server that receives your clipboard.
What we’re honest about
The pilot trusts every MyClippy installation that can reach your network, and the session key is shared over local HTTP. Clip contents are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, but that doesn’t protect you from other people on the same network. Use it only on private Wi-Fi you trust. Our privacy policy explains exactly what the apps access, and our test results include the checks that failed.
How we test
We test on real devices — currently a Google Pixel 7, an Apple M1 Pro Mac and a Windows laptop — with synthetic text, comparing the receiving clipboard byte-for-byte. Emulator runs don’t count as passes. When we compare MyClippy with other apps, we use their official documentation and say which details we haven’t tested ourselves.
Milestones
- — Research into cross-device clipboard needs; decision to build native Android, Mac and Windows apps.
- — First automatic local-network discovery between the apps.
- — Mac and Windows pilot downloads published.
- — Three-device test on real hardware; desktop version 0.3.3 released.
- — Android app submitted for Google Play closed testing.
